Villa Castelfiorentino

Villa Castelfiorentino is steeped in history. Its origins date back to the early years of the 13th century when a powerful Longobard clan from the Elsa valley, the Conti Albertis, chose this as the site for their castle. It was later converted into the elegant villa you can see today. The Conti Alberti family owned the property until the 17th century and traces of the original 13th century fort in the square brick tower and the walls alongside are still discernible.

Special Occasions

With sufficient notice, the house can be taken for special occasions such as weddings (there is a consecrated private chapel in the villa's grounds) and/or large parties. Although the villa can only sleep 12 people, the estate has an agriturismo (5 minutes drive away), which can sleep another 20+ people and further accommodation can be found in the nearby villages. Also, special interest groups can be catered for. For example, we can put together weekly holidays that incorporate the following activities:

  • Cooking courses - Traditional Tuscan cuisine
  • Visits to Prada and Gucci factory shops
  • Wild boar shooting, when in season

First Floor

At the top of the marble staircase, a long corridor leads to the bedrooms. On the right there is a double bedroom - again with ensuite bathroom with shower and jacuzzi bath. To the left there are two twin bedrooms - both with their own bathrooms one with shower and bath the other with shower. Towards the end of the corridor on the left a double bedroom with outside balcony overlooks the front courtyard. It is next to its own bathroom with both shower and jacuzzi bath. There is also a laundry room and second staircase leading down to the ground floor.

Description of the medieval annexe

The 13th century tower alongside the villa (part of the original castle) has its own access. From the living room on the ground floor a staircase takes you up to a double bedroom which is decorated with a lovely old fresco and which has a cosy fireplace. The bedroom has its own small bathroom with shower.
