Villa Il Giardino is a beautiful private home nestled on a hillside near Porto Ercole. Due to its own water supply, and the green fingers of Giovanni, the villa sits in a sumptuous, verdant garden consisting of lawns, herbaceous borders, banks of lavender, lemon and olive trees and a myriad of terraces. In total, there are 3½ hectares of grounds for guests to enjoy.
The property benefits from various sea views and a private beach is only a 12-15 minute stroll away or 3-5 minutes by car. Private parking is available behind the beach. There is also a very pretty 12 x 5 meters swimming pool on a lower terrace in the garden with an independent guest cottage nearby. There is ample comfortable seating in the garden as well as an outside dining area. Subtle garden lighting provides a romantic and heady atmosphere for convivial evening entertaining.
The villa is very luminous and airy and extremely comfortable so one could quite happily spend the whole day there reading, enjoying the garden or lazing by the pool. Yet a private beach is a short walk away as indeed is Porto Ercole, with its myriad of fashionable boutiques and excellent restaurants.
Cala Grande is a private seaside retreat on a secluded family estate immersed in approximately 20 hectares of park and landscaped Mediterranean gardens of pines, fig and orange trees and roses. It enjoys wonderful sea views and has direct private access to the sea.
Accommodation is spread out in the park between three houses that are all within three minutes walk of each other making it ideal for a large group of friends or for two to three families.
The three houses have, very recently, all been renovated and redecorated to the highest of standards making each one appear unique in look and style yet all of them sharing the common theme of comfort and luxury. Having such extensive grounds so close to the sea makes Villa Bianca a veritable paradise. It would be a wonderful place to hold a family reunion party, with the full complement of the owners' staff at hand to look after you. The Italian cook is excellent, producing wonderful traditional Tuscan meals or lighter dishes with the excellent local seadfood. Indeed, so luxurious and spacious is the property, guests can be forgiven for relaxing and unwinding without feeling the need to go anywhere else!
However, being close to Porto Santo Stefano, Cala Grande is very strategically located for discovering the delights of the Argentario peninsula and the inland Maremma Toscana should you so desire.
Built to protect the narrow strip of land, which leads to Argentario, the town of Orbetello was, up to half a century ago, still protected by strong ramparts and separated from the mainland apparently being an island.
There are seven beautiful islands that make up the Tuscan archipelago off the coast of Monte Argentario. They are, in order of size, Elba, Giglio, Capraia, Montecristo, Pianosa, Giannutri and Gorgona.
For most people, Monte Argentario is sea, beaches, fun and relaxation. Peaceful and solitary it is not, especially in the height of the summer season. The "other side" of Monte Argentario is not as well known but it is just as beautiful. Here in the midst of the hills covered with flowers and herbs, there is silence and tranquillity. A hike or gentle walk through a world waiting to be discovered – the promontory of Monte Argentario – gives one the space and freedom to quickly forget the stresses and strains of everyday life.
This old Tuscan farmhouse, which sits in the midst of its own private olive grove and lemon trees, has been beautifully restored by its owners, who have created a comfortable, informal yet stylish home. Despite having the appearance of being in the depth of the Tuscan countryside, Il Podere is just a stone's throw away from the beautiful beach La Feniglia and the picturesque Porto Ercole. The property benefits from having a small private swimming pool.
